“if you find a job you love, you will never work a day in your life”

Reasons why our carers became a carer...

“I chose to become a carer after losing my dad in 2020. Watching his health decline and seeing the challenges of accessing care made me realise how important carers are and inspired me to start caring myself. I’ve always wanted to help people, and although I originally planned to become a nurse, I realised I’m a hands-on person who enjoys making a difference directly. Care work can be challenging, but knowing I’ve helped someone and made a positive impact on their day is what makes it so rewarding. I’m proud to be a carer and the difference I make in people’s lives every day.”

-Hannah L

“I wanted to be a nurse but I'm not the brightest so this was the next best thing, plus being brought up with a sister who was mentally and physically disabled, so helped mum and 45 years on im still in the care profession I think it says it all.”

-Sharon

“I chose care work because it is a role that continually teaches compassion, patience, and understanding. Every person I support has their own story, and being trusted to play a part in their journey is both a privilege and a responsibility”

-Leighanne
